What did they NOT ask for?

Did NOT ask to break into the system.
Did NOT to find out why he was there.
Did NOT ask what he was doing.
Did NOT ask to find out who he was.
Did NOT ask to compromise any other account on the system.
Did NOT ask for system security information to be revealed.

They were not asking me to break into this system. Point in their favor. Any access I needed would be provided, as best they could.

They did not ask me to find out why he was there. Practical people. Deal with the problem first and defer matters of philosophy to later.

They didn't seem to care what he was doing. Maybe they knew, maybe they didn't. Wasn't important to getting their system back.

They thought they new who he might be (an individual in yes another country) but didn't seem concerned about that either.

They did not ask that I compromise any other account on the system.

They did not ask that I reveal any security information about the system. Another point in their favor.

So what had happened???
