Existing Installations

• Make sure you are not running any services which you do not intend to run.
• Do not run file sharing services such as NFS, or SMB over the Internet.
• Do not run rsh, rlogin, rcp, or rexec. There are more secure replacements available.
• Use SSL enabled versions of protocols where available and where possible.
• Keep installations current with latest software updates.
