Reporting an Incident

• Reporting an incident does not mandate Law Enforcement involvment

• An incident may not rise to the dollar threshold for a formal investigation

• An incident may be correlated against similar incidents and investgated as a group

• Generally, Law Enforement needs cooperation to proceed and will drop issues if requested

• Reporting may now be required by law

  • Doing business with California or Californians
    • Compromise of personal data
    • Compromise of credit card information
