Booting From CD

• Disconnect harddrive initially

  • You may accidentally boot from harddrive
  • You may loose evidence if booting from CD fails

• Test booting from CD

  • CD may not be enabled
  • BIOS may not recognize the CD
  • The CD may be damaged

• Check BIOS Boot Sequence

• If possible, test with a test harddrive

• Connect drive and proceed only after testing that the system will boot from the CD

• Pretest CD booting on systems where possible
